early morning
verbose introduction (post mouse brainwashing):
Hi, my name's Rachel (I hope you have figured this out by now), and I was born on September 5, 1979: 9 months after the great Chicago snowstorm of '79. I'm 5'2 (according to Disney) and > 100 lbs (it's the muscle, I swear! :-)
I have a tendency to type lots of smiley faces and/or go off on random tangents.
I have two older brothers (9 and 14 years older respectively) and a sister-in-law that kick ass.
I spent my Spring 2001 semester being brainwashed by the mouse in Orlando living at good 'ol Vista Lay. I returned to Mouse World Spring 2002 to do another WDWCP as a character performer. (I got to have castmembers stare at me in horror as I "removed my head" backstage)
I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2001.
I was an instructor for KINES 104 (skating class), one of the least paying yet most fun jobs I've ever had. The really rewarding part is being able to share something I'm passionate about with other students (insert cheesy after-school special/Full House moral music here).
I played ice hockey for the Illini Women's Hockey team. I just started playing in 1997, so I still have a lot to learn. My greatest hockey achievement was placing second in the speed competition at the regional hockey tournament Spring 2000 :)
I talk too much... sometimes to people I don't even know. I am not sure if that makes me very friendly or very scary.
I have a very odd sense of humor.
I'm sick of starting all these sentences with "I" or "I'm"
My childhood dream was to be an animator.
In my spare time I love figure skating, playing ice hockey, drawing, singing, acting (I miss stage stuff dearly), chattin', playing music (be it via harmonica, piano, bass or guitar), Disney pin trading, and working on web pages (hooray for html!)
Pet peeves include (and are not limited to): smoke, people who maliciously make fun of other people, florida bugs, professional ads with poor grammar ("it's" is "it is" and "its" is possesive, darnit!), telemarketers (especially the ones that call at 8 AM) and mosquito bites.
